About the Author

Joseph Green

Joseph Green followed a duel career, working for 37 years in the American space program (six military, 31 civilian), and freelance writing at night and on weekends. He retired from NASA as Deputy Chief of the Education Office at the Kennedy Space Center. At KSC he specialized in preparing fact sheets, brochures and other semi-technical publications for the general public, explaining complex scientific and engineering projects in terms understandable to a layman. He also prepared more than 20 science papers for NASA and contractor executives. At the same time he wrote major science articles for Analog Science Fiction & Fact magazine. Prior to retirement from NASA and becoming a full-time writer, Joseph Green produced five novels and about 70 fiction stories, the latter published primarily in the Analog and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and in original anthologies. More current works can be found at the “Joseph Green” page in Amazon Books. Prior jobs include working as a mill hand, construction worker, and shop supervisor for Boeing, the last while building Bomarc and Minuteman missile bases around the USA. His formal education includes a B.A. from the University of Alabama.

Got a Question?

What are you writing next?

I recently completed The Assassins Against God, which is less a sequel than the continuing story of, and conclusion to, The Assassins for God. Descriptions are available in the Bookshelf section of this website.

The Weary Road novels feel so of-the-moment. Will there be more books in the series?

There are no plans to continue the series at this time. The novels each have separate mysteries and can be read independently of each other. However, they make the most sense if read in order. The reading order for The Weary Road Murders is:

A Murder in the RealWorld

A Lasting Dream of Murder

The Resistance Revolution Murders

I love your short stories! Do you have a collection available?

Thank you! I broke into the professional ranks with short stories, and I’ve written quite a few since that first sale. My short stories and novellas are collected in the Unfettered Stories of Imagination books. Although the books are numbered, because that is convenient for publication, they may be read in any order. In order of publication, they are:

Running Wild

Fantastic Tales of Love and Loss

Otherwise Lost

Space to Move

Do you also write young adult?

I wrote a duology (that’s two books), of which the first is young adult. However, the second book definitely skews more adult, so it would be best for older adolescents. Adults may enjoy them too! The reading order is:

Three Sons of Bitter Sand

Crystal Coming Home
