A Lasting Dream of Murder
Reviews
If virtual reality ever gets as good as these VR adventures, I guess I’ll have to invest in a helmet. But you don’t need to be a technophile, or even a science fiction or mystery fan, to love this book… A Murder in the RealWorld is a VERY good book. The characters, whether encountered in VR or in the real world, are well-developed; the descriptions sometimes lyrical, and one can become immersed in the plot(s).
As our own virtual technology expands, this is a cautionary tale of where we could be as a society. A Murder in the RealWorld explores a kind of digital dystopia, where VR technology provides an endless variety of sexual encounters and epic adventures in a world-wide VR connective service called Weary, creating fictional lives that few are willing to put aside to resume the mundane activities of work, family and friends.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I’m hooked. Joseph Green weaves an amazing storyline which is captivating and grabs you. It does not let go until the very end. Looking forward to reading more in the future.
